As Head of ICMP’s Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology Division, Soren Blau manages a team of experts supporting the investigation of crime scenes and mass and other clandestine graves, providing assistance in the search for, and recovery, documentation, examination and analysis of mortal remains and evidence.
Soren joined ICMP in June 2023, after 18 years working as the Senior Forensic Anthropologist and Head of Identification Services at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM), Melbourne, Australia.
Having completed a PhD at the University of Sydney, Australia, Soren taught at various universities before taking up the position as a forensic anthropologist in Victoria. She has participated in the recovery and analysis of human remains from archaeological and forensic contexts in Australia and overseas for the last 20 years and has undertaken consultancies for a range of international organizations.
