Kyrgyzstan

Since 2010, tensions over poverty and ethnic divisions have spilled into violence. Unrest in June 2010 resulted in 300,000 people being displaced inside the country and 100,000 fleeing into neighboring Uzbekistan. 

In August 2022 the Institute for War and Peace Reporting stated that 17 people remain unaccounted for, quoting one survivor who argued that government “indifference” had prevented families from learning the fate of their loved ones.
