LegalVox is an International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) initiative designed to help families of the missing navigate legal and administrative challenges by providing clear, accessible, and reliable procedural information.

Around the world, families searching for their loved ones face complex legal obstacles: establishing legal status, accessing rights and entitlements, updating civil documentation, navigating inheritance and property issues, and engaging with state authorities. LegalVox responds to these challenges by offering a structured platform through which families can ask questions, receive informed guidance, and better understand the systems intended to protect their rights.

LegalVox delivers timely, accurate information in a rights‑based and accessible format. LegalVox is being expanded to different geographic regions, ensuring that families — regardless of location — can access the information they need.

All LegalVox services are provided free of charge.

LegalVox Ukraine

LegalVox Ukraine is the first regional implementation of the LegalVox initiative. It is carried out in partnership with the Ukrainian Commissioner on Persons Missing under Special Circumstances and is tailored to the specific needs of families affected by the disappearance of their loved ones in the context of the ongoing armed conflict that began in 2014.

Families in Ukraine frequently encounter legal procedures related to missing persons status, forensic examinations, inheritance, pensions, social protections, and official documentation. Many of these processes are complex and emotionally challenging. LegalVox Ukraine provides practical guidance to help families understand their rights and navigate administrative pathways with confidence.
