ICMP expresses condolences on the death of Ramiz Nukić

[:en]The Hague, 8 November 2022: The Commissioners and staff of the International Commission on Missing Persons express their condolences on the death of Ramiz Nukić who, for more than 20 years, devoted his life to the search for genocide victims in the forests around Srebrenica.

“Ramiz was a very special person. He responded to the crime that was perpetrated against his family by embarking on an unrelenting search for the remains of Srebrenica genocide victims,” ICMP Director-General Kathryne Bomberger said today. “His life and work have been an inspiration to everyone who is engaged in the search for, and identification of missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.”

Ramiz’s father and brothers were killed in the July 1995 Genocide; their remains were found in the Zvornik area in 2015 and after identification buried at the Memorial Center in Potočari.[:bs]Hag, 8. novembar 2022. godine: Povjerenici i uposlenici Međunarodne komisije za nestale osobe izražavaju svoje saučešće povodom smrti Ramiza Nukića koji je više od 20 godina po šumama oko Srebrenice tragao za žrtvama genocida.

“Ramiz je bio veoma posebna osoba. Na zločine počinjene protiv njegove porodice odgovorio je tako što je svoj život posvetio neumornom traženju posmrtnih ostataka žrtava srebreničkog genocida”, kazala je danas generalna direktorica ICMP-a, Kathryne Bomberger. “Njegov život i rad će služiti kao inspiracija svakom ko je uključen u traženje i identifikaciju nestalih osoba u Bosni i Hercegovini i daleko šire”.

Ramizov otac i braća su ubijeni u julu 1995. godine u genocidu u Srebrenici, njihovi posmrtni ostaci su pronađeni u Zvorniku 2015. godine i nakon identifikacije sahranjeni u Memorijalnom centru Potočari.[:]
